Original brick moulds have been used in construction in India for generations. Today they are used to a limited extent, but you can still see the old brick molds and ovens around the fields. The clay is filled in the moulds - then the brick mould is turned over and the brick is shaken out of the mould. The bricks are placed on the ground, where they dry in the sun. Finally, they are fired in a kiln. Each small business has its own stamp in the brick mould to show where the brick comes from. If you are in doubt whether your brick mould is original, you can look for stamp marks on the bottom.
