no two products are exactly alike
Variations in structure, color, patination, and finish are a natural part of our products' character.
It is precisely these differences that make each piece of furniture and object unique.
What do the terms mean?
concepts
Reclaimed wood is old wood that has previously been used in buildings, scaffolding, or other structures and is now given new life in new furniture and interiors.
Small imperfections, cracks, variations, and traces of prior use are part of the authentic character and history of the products.
Traces of time, use and wear that give materials warmth, character, and authenticity
Products with a past life, where age, patina and history are part of their character.
Originals are authentic vintage finds with a previous life.
Each product is unique and will naturally vary in size, colour, texture, and finish.
Recrafted describes products where old materials or objects have been transformed into new functions through creativity and craftsmanship.
The finish describes the overall appearance and surface of the wood.
Many of our surfaces are hand-treated using various techniques, treatments, and layers, creating variations and unique expressions.
Some products have a rustic finish with distinct texture, imperfections, and prominent patina, while others are sanded smoother for a calmer and more modern look. The finish significantly impacts the furniture's character and the feel of the material.
Products where only one or a few copies exist.
We typically use these two surface treatments on our products, as we believe they offer the most beautiful finish:
Matt lacquer
Matt lacquer protects the wood's surface while preserving its natural and subdued appearance.
This treatment is often used on tables and other surfaces that need to withstand daily use, but where one still wishes to retain the wood's warmth and authentic character.
Wax
Wax gives the wood a warm, soft, and more saturated appearance.
This treatment enhances the wood's grain and depth, providing a natural surface with a beautiful glow. Over time, the wood will continue to develop patina and character.
Iron with natural traces of oxidation, wear, and use, which gives it a raw and authentic look.

Recycled materials
Old wood with history, patina, and character
We have a special passion for old wood and therefore work extensively with reclaimed wood in our furniture and interiors.
A large part of our wood comes from old buildings, doors, scaffolding, boats, and furniture in India.
The wood often originates from old buildings, doors, scaffolding, boats, or furniture, and over many years, it has developed the patina and texture that only time and use can create.
Sun, rain, and a lived life leave their marks on the material, giving the wood a warm, lively, and authentic expression.
Old nail holes, paint residues, cracks, and wear marks are not flaws, but part of the wood's history and character. The surfaces are carefully preserved and hand-polished with respect for the material's original expression.

Retained as original
We love the traces that time and use leave on old furniture and objects. That's why we often choose to preserve as much of the original expression as possible - from worn surfaces and old layers of paint to patina and small imperfections, which tell the story of the product's previous life.
In India, we are particularly fascinated by the many colours, layers, and hand-painted details found on old furniture and objects. Sometimes we choose to preserve the original finishes to maintain the authenticity and soul of the material. Other times, old layers of paint are carefully removed or toned down so that the expression fits more beautifully into Nordic homes.
Not all originals are in the same condition, and an important part of our work is about seeing the potential in each individual find. Through repairs, craftsmanship, and the right finish, old furniture and objects are given new life - without losing their history and character.

Old metal with natural patina
We also work with old metals that have been exposed to sun, rain, and the natural effects of time for many years. This gives the surfaces an authentic patina and a raw, lively expression that cannot be recreated in new materials.
The metal may originate from old constructions, furniture, or industrial elements and often bears traces of previous use, small imperfections, and natural variations, all of which contribute to creating character and personality.
To preserve the unique expression of the materials, the surfaces are carefully prepared and treated by hand. Sometimes we use a transparent rust-sealer to maintain the original appearance and warm patina. Other times, the metal is treated with darker finishes, which give a deeper and more Nordic expression.
Common to all products is the desire to preserve the authenticity of the materials and allow their history to be a visible part of the design.

Handcrafted finishes
Our surfaces are developed to highlight the wood's natural structure, patina, and history.
Creating the right surface is often a long process where we test different treatments to find the perfect expression. We primarily work with wax and water-based varnishes — both matte and more glossy surfaces — depending on the look we want to highlight in the wood.
We mainly work with old wood, often in various types of wood, each reacting differently to the treatments. The same surface can therefore create widely different expressions depending on the wood's structure, age, and character.
It requires experience, craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of materials to create the right balance between color, structure, and patina — an art that our skilled local craftsmen master through many years of experience.
Many of the treatments are hand-mixed and applied by hand in several layers with sanding between coats to achieve the desired expression — light, dark, warm, rustic, or more Nordic in tone.
We always work with surfaces that highlight the wood's natural structure and history rather than hiding it. Therefore, color, tone, and surface will naturally vary slightly from product to product.
It is precisely these variations that help make each piece of furniture unique and full of personality.

Imperfections with charm and history
When we find old furniture and objects, they often require careful restoration to be given new life. It is precisely the worn surfaces, small cracks, imperfections, and traces of previous use that we fall in love with — because they tell the story of the material's former life.
Many of these imperfections require creative solutions and artisanal repairs along the way. Small pieces of wood might be inserted to preserve the construction, or iron fittings and details added to stabilize and extend the furniture's lifespan.
We always try to preserve as much of the original expression as possible and do not see these repairs as flaws, but as a natural part of the product's charm, authenticity, and personality.
It is precisely the combination of patina, craftsmanship, and minor imperfections that makes each piece of furniture unique.
We're not looking for perfect. We're looking for genuine.
Current handmade surfaces

Amber Wood
Amber wood is a warm brown shade with golden undertones, which accentuates the natural play and structure of the wood.
The colour adds warmth and serenity to the interior and pairs beautifully with both light and dark materials.

Nordic Drift
Nordic drift is a finish we developed ourselves. It has a light and lively wood appearance with a soft, Nordic character.
The surface appears lightly bleached with a distinct texture, visible grain, and natural patina, which gives the wood depth and authenticity. The finish combines the rustic look of old wood with a bright and calmer surface, where the wood's history is still clearly visible.
The wood is often sanded smooth, so the surface feels soft and pleasant, while preserving its lively and characteristic expression.

Nordic Rustic
Nordic Rustic is a finish best known from your grandparents' old weathered wooden garden furniture that has been left outside for years – patinated by rain, sun, and the ravages of time. A look we love…
