Facts & Story
Original brick moulds have been used in Indian construction for generations. Wet clay was pressed into the moulds, which were then turned upside down so the brick could be gently released. The bricks were left to dry in the sun before being fired in a kiln. Each small workshop had its own stamp carved into the mould, identifying where the bricks were made. If you’re wondering whether your brick mould is original, look at the base—you may find the imprint of this historic stamp.
