Wall shelf in recycled wood with drawer - Nordic Drift | Recycled Collection

Wall shelf in recycled wood with a drawer

This wall shelf is crafted from solid recycled wood and finished with Nordic Drift – a light, rustic finish developed by Sjælsø Living. The three open shelves combined with a practical drawer give you space to both display your favorite items and store away small everyday objects.

The light finish highlights the wood's natural structure and patina, giving the wall shelf a calm and harmonious look that fits beautifully into both modern and classic homes.

Nordic Drift – developed by Sjælsø Living

This wall shelf is finished with Nordic Drift – a light, rustic finish developed by Sjælsø Living for furniture made from recycled wood.

The finish highlights the wood's natural structure and patina and creates a harmonious overall look across different types of hardwood. The result is a light and calm surface where the history of the wood is still visible.

Creating a uniform finish on recycled wood requires great experience. Each wood type reacts differently to surface treatment, which is why Nordic Drift is developed with respect for the material's natural variations.

Recycled wood with history

At Sjælsø Living, we believe in preserving materials that already exist. Therefore, this wall shelf is made from old recycled wood, which often originates from old houses, scaffolding, and ships.

By giving the wood new life, we preserve both fine craftsmanship and the traces that only many years of use can create. Variations in wood type, structure, and small signs of use are a natural part of the material's character and make each wall shelf unique.

A wall shelf for many rooms

The slim depth makes the wall shelf easy to place, even where space is limited.

Use it in the kitchen for smaller cookbooks, spices, and storage jars, in the bathroom for bottles and baskets, or in the hallway for keys, candles, and small decorative items. The drawer also provides a practical place for items you want to keep close at hand but not necessarily out in the open.

Use the wall shelf for instance

• For spices, cookbooks, and jars in the kitchen
• In the bathroom for storage
• In the hallway for keys and small items
• For ceramics, plants, and personal finds
• In the summer house as decorative storage

Why we choose recycled wood

Recycled wood is a material with history. By giving existing wood new life, we preserve both the beautiful traces from previous use and respect for the resources that already exist.

The old wood develops a natural patina and a vibrant expression over time, which makes each piece of furniture special. Small variations in color, structure, and wood type are part of the material's character and should not be considered defects, but as part of the furniture's history.

Recycled Collection

This wall shelf is part of the Recycled Collection – a collection of furniture and interior design made from handpicked recycled wood. The materials are given new life through skilled craftsmanship, while the wood's natural patina and character are preserved. The result is timeless furniture with warmth, authenticity, and a calm Nordic look.
